Covid-19 Practice Policies and Procedures

Please read this notice carefully prior to attending your upcoming chiropody appointment.

The safety of our patients and staff are of our upmost importance. We have reviewed our procedures post July 19th 2021 and will continue with the following:

Pre appointment screening questions can help identify potential infection:

 

  • Have you tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 7 days?
  • Are you waiting for a COVID-19 test or the results?
  • Do you have any of the following symptoms:

New, continuous cough*; High temperature or fever; Loss of, or change in sense of smell or taste?

  • Do you live with someone who has either tested positive for COVID-19 or had symptoms of COVID-19 in the last 14 days?

 

* A new, continuous cough means coughing for longer than an hour, or three or more coughing episodes in 24 hours. If the patient usually has a cough, it may be worse than usual.

If you answer YES to any of the above questions, we ask you to cancel your appointment over the telephone (0115 9820800) or by responding to this e-mail, and we ask you NOT to attend the practice.

If you are well and able to attend your appointment, then when you arrive at the practice there will be some changes to entering the practice.

For the foreseeable future, the guidelines will follow social distancing measures of at least 1 metre from the reception team and other patients as much as possible.

For patient safety, initially there will be a reduced amount of appointments to minimise the number of patients in the practice at once.

Our team will be wearing personal protective equipment therefore It may be difficult for us to talk as much as before due to the fitted masks, however it is still the same friendly faces underneath them!

We would like to reassure you our cross infection control systems in terms of cleaning and sterilisation are robust and already highly regulated, we are currently allowing extra time for these procedures.

If you have booked an appointment you will received a confirmation email from us with a medical history form/consent form/GDPR form and Covid 19 statement attached to complete and submit.  This can all be done online.  If you do not have this facility we will go through these with you at your appointment.

On Arrival at the practice

  • If you have arrived by car:

Please wait in your vehicle and  the clinician will come out to collect you when they are ready. There is no need for you to notify us of your arrival.

If you have arrived by public transport or on foot:

As above please wait in the car park area, if the weather is inclement then please make sure you do not arrive too early and bring an umbrealla to provide shelter.  We aim to keep to our appointment times so you should not be waiting for very long.

 

What to do once you enter the Practice

We will ask you to use a hand sanitiser and wear a mask.  If you can bring your own face covering or mask that would be most helpful.

Whilst you are being treated we will place a perspex screen between you and the clinican to give another level of protection.

When your treatment is complete

Once your treatment is complete you  will be escorted to reception to make your payment (contactles card if possible)  and make your next appointment.

The receptionist will show you to the  exit through the front door.
